ATU: Virtual launch of the 4th edition of the ATU Africa innovation competition

The African telecommunications union informs its member States that the virtual launch of the 4th edition of the ATU Africa Initiative competition, which was initially scheduled on 27 september 2024 in Narobi from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., has been postponed on 2 october 2024 at the same place and time. The ATU recalls the objective of this competition which is to prepare the future generation of technological leaders.

In a circular letter addressed to the member States of the African telecommunications union (ATU) on september 19, 2024, the general secretariat informed them that the virtual launch of the 4th edition of the ATU Africa innovation challenge, initially scheduled on 27th september 2024, has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. The event will take place on 2nd october 2024 at 11:30 am – 1:00 pm (EAT), clarifies the message.

The general secretariat recalls that the 4th edition of the ATU Africa innovation challenge remains dedicated to identifying and supporting young African innovators who are developing ground-breaking Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions. The challenge continues to be a cornerstone of our efforts to foster innovation across the continent and empower the next generation of tech leaders, indicates the message.

Concerned by this setback, the general secretariat apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the change and trusts that it will not affect the member States’ participation. “As always, your presence is highly valued, and we look forward to your continued engagement in this important initiative”, ATU’general secretariat insists.

Finally, ATU’s general secretariat concludes by stressing that the participation of its member States in that event will be highly valued. It encourages all member States to promote the challenge within their respective countries to ensure wide participation by eligible young innovators.
